1985 saw a couple of significant changes in Trevor's life. After 8 years as a Senior Probation Officer in High Wycombe, Trevor moved to work in the Community Service programme. In the early 90's he moved again to his final post as an SPO in Aylesbury's youth prison. After 35 years of service Trevor retired in 1996, and celebrated the following day with a trip to Adams Park to see the first ever Wycombe - Burnley game. Burnley lost 4-1!
Also in 1985, Trevor's sister and her family made the choice to move away from the local area to Cornwall. Although this came as quite a shock it led to many very happy visits and holidays over the years that followed, especially as Trevor's mother moved down to live in Cornwall in 1987.
With Andrew and Jonathan getting older and entering adult life, Trevor and Diana had 2 Green Leys to themselves once more, along with their cat Cally who was Cindy's successor. When Cally passed away in 1998, Lucy came to join them and lived for a very good age (20). Trevor and Di often had guests to stay with family from South Africa, or from the Netherlands to which Jonathan moved in 2000 to be with his girlfriend Deborah.
Diana was still working as a special needs teacher until 2006 so Trevor filled his week with a range of voluntary work including collecting and delivering goods to the South Bucks Hospice shop in High Wycombe and working as a Red Cross Driver. Increasingly they became involved in activities with the Wesley Methodist Church which they had been attending since 1968.
Jonathan and Deborah married in 2005, followed not long after by Andrew and Amy in 2007 - the same year that Trevor and Di celebrated 40 years of marriage. Shortly afterwards, in 2008, Trevor became a grandfather for the first time when Sam was born in Amsterdam. Trevor and Di visited the new arrival just 5 days later and Trevor was smitten from the word go - he loved being a grandad! In 2010 Jacob was born to Andrew and Amy, with Adam coming along in 2011 to complete the family in Amsterdam.
In 2011 Trevor and Di made the last of several visits to South Africa in the 2000's, as Di's diagnosis with Parkinsons saw her unable to travel far in the years that followed.
